Support

Clipio is an early-access product built by a very small team, so support goes straight to the people who wrote the code. Tell us what happened and we will actually read it.

Email us

The right channel for anything that is not a crash — a question about a feature, an account problem, or a licence query. Include your OS and, if it helps, a Clipio recording of the problem.

Report a bug from the app

Best for anything that crashed, froze or exported wrong. Settings → Bugs attaches your app version, OS and hardware automatically, so we are not guessing at the environment.

Things worth trying first

A handful of problems come up often enough to be worth listing. If one of these matches, you may not need us at all.

The recording is choppy or drops frames

Close whatever else is capturing the screen — a second recorder, a streaming app, or a meeting client holding the camera. Clipio takes the display through a hardware capture path, and two tools competing for it will cost you frames.

A second monitor records as a black or frozen image

This is the display-mapping fallback. Try recording that monitor as your primary display, and send us the bug report — the report includes which capture path was chosen, which is exactly what we need to see.

Captions do nothing when I turn them on

Captions need a one-time model download the first time you enable them. If the download was interrupted, toggle captions off and on to restart it, and check that nothing on the network is blocking it.

The Share button fails

Share uploads to your own Google Drive, so it needs that connection to be live. Open Settings → Integrations, disconnect and reconnect Google Drive, then try again. Very large recordings on a weak connection can also time out — the upload is not resumable yet.

Nothing happens when I press a hotkey

Another app has probably claimed the same combination system-wide. Rebind it in Settings → Shortcuts. On macOS, also check that Clipio has Accessibility permission, which is what lets it see keys pressed in other apps.

Recording the bug is the fastest way to explain it. Clipio can record itself — a fifteen-second clip of the thing going wrong tells us more than a paragraph, and the app is already open.

Still stuck?

Send it over. Include your OS, the Clipio version from Settings → About, and what you were doing when it went wrong.
